Gregorian Chants

I have been doing some recent research on Gregorian chants. Seems there is a revival happening with the chants. There is a CD that hit the pop charts and even out-sold Madonna. (What a strange play on words... makes you go hmm.) The CD is entitled "Chant: Music for the Soul" and it is performed by the monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz, a 12th-century Cistercian monastery near Vienna.

In one article, a neuro-scientist (no name given), was quoted as saying that chanting has healing properties and has been shown to lower blood pressure and increase levels of the performance hormone DHA.

This makes sense to me because I have listened to these wonderful chants. They have a magical quality words cannot explain. They are something to be experienced.
