Gregorian Chants

I have been doing some recent research on Gregorian chants. Seems there is a revival happening with the chants. There is a CD that hit the pop charts and even out-sold Madonna. (What a strange play on words... makes you go hmm.) The CD is entitled "Chant: Music for the Soul" and it is performed by the monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz, a 12th-century Cistercian monastery near Vienna.

In one article, a neuro-scientist (no name given), was quoted as saying that chanting has healing properties and has been shown to lower blood pressure and increase levels of the performance hormone DHA.

This makes sense to me because I have listened to these wonderful chants. They have a magical quality words cannot explain. They are something to be experienced.

Getting Started

Entering the blogger world is a new experience for us. We have had our website up for years but recently decided to jump in with both feet and avail ourselves of the endless possiblities of blogging and ezines and adwords, etc. We had our first ezine article published at ezine.com. It's titled Ancient Intents Hidden Within the Solfa Scale. Our current project is an an ebook and it's proving to be quite challenging. We're not complaining though. When we look at how much we have achieved in the past few years and how much we hope to achieve, we get excited all over again!
